Clickmarks
Announces Support for Sun One Portal
FREMONT, CALIFORNIA - July 28,
2003
Clickmarks, a provider of software
for web and wireless application
development and deployment, today
announced the release of Clickmarks
Portlet Factory for the Sun One
Portal.
The Clickmarks Portlet Factory
combines the Clickmarks Studio,
a visual design environment for
quickly designing portlets, with
the Clickmarks Enterprise Server,
a J2EE compliant runtime environment
for leveraging existing applications,
Web sites and databases. Customer
benefits include accelerated design
and development of new corporate
portals and Web sites, reduced development
costs, and increased return on their
existing e-business
assets.
The Clickmarks Portlet Factory
is a unique visual development tool
that allows developers to record
interactions with Web based and
legacy (mainframe or any other client-server)
applications through "Presentation
Level Integration TM". This
process enables these interactions
to be captured and reused as programmatic
objects or portlets. The developer
is able to quickly populate a Sun
One Portal with these portlets.
Each portlet so created with the
Clickmarks Studio, is by design,
automatically accessible on both
desktop based browsers or on wireless
device based browsers.
When used together, Sun One Portal
and Clickmarks Portlet Factory can
enable enterprises and system integrators
to quickly create corporate portals
for customers, partners and employees.
The cost and time involved in creation
of portlets from existing applications,
web-based or legacy is reduced by
orders of magnitude by using this
complementary offering from Clickmarks.
“From the start, we thought
Clickmarks would be a linchpin for
the next generation of e-business,”
said Umair Khan, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Clickmarks.
"It's rewarding to see leading
technology vendors leveraging Clickmarks
Studio for enterprise portal implementations."
