Anthony N. LaPine, Chief Executive Officer

Anthony LaPine, an original founder of Semotus Solutions (formerly Datalink.net), manages the entire corporate vision and strategy of the Company. LaPine has a 30-year legacy as an icon of business and technology in the Silicon Valley, and continues to guide Semotus Solutions' progress, its development as well as its current and future business plans.

Mr. LaPine has served as a member of 20 corporate Boards for companies across a broad spectrum of industries, and he has created a legendary career in the realm of computing technology. He served as a member of the engineering team that gave birth to the modern disk drive. Mr. LaPine was one of the founders of Memorex's Equipment Group where he was instrumental in developing the floppy disk drive, a cornerstone of today's personal computer revolution. In addition, he played a major role in Memorex's historic turnaround, re-listing Memorex on the New York Stock Exchange-the only company ever re-listed.

Mr. LaPine re-engineered the Irwin/Olivetti Company, orchestrating the invention of the first removable cartridge tape backup in personal computers. This development opened a new billion-dollar market, catapulting the company to profitability and a public offering (IPO).

At LaPine Technology he launched the first micro disk drives for notebook computers, creating a whole new industry standard. LaPine led his company's growth to a profitable $60 million in sales before selling the company in a transaction valued at $240 million.

Mr. LaPine possesses a BSEE Cum Laude, from California State University, an MSEE from Santa Clara University and an MBA from the University of San Francisco. He later became an alumnus of Stanford's Graduate School of Business through their Executive Program. In 1993, he received the San Jose State University "Alumni Award of Distinction" and is the recipient of the Santa Clara University 1994 "Distinguished Engineering Alumni" award.

Umair A. Khan, Chairman, President

Umair co-founded Clickmarks in 1999 and serves as its Chairman and CEO. Umair was also Founder and Chairman of Wordwalla, a venture-backed Silicon Valley company providing multilingual software solutions for web and mobile. Umair also co-founded Chowk, a niche web portal focusing on South Asia. He has over twenty five industry patents granted or pending in Computer System Design and Architecture, including four from his work as a Lead Engineer at Intel Corporation.

Umair received a BS in Mathematics with Computer Science (1992) and an MS in Computer Engineering (1995) from MIT, where in 1991 he was elected Institutional Nominee by the Department of Mathematics, as one of six distinguished scholars in Mathematics.

Sudhir Kulkarni, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Channel Sales

Sudhir has successfully founded and run two IT businesses prior to joining Clickmarks, he brings an entrepreneurial management style to the company. He worked as a Sales Manager for Coats Viyella and was Managing Director of a large franchise business at NIIT, an IT major out of India in a career spanning over 15 years.

A Chevening scholar at the London School of Economics, Sudhir holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management and a bachelor’s degree in business from Bombay University.

Christine Odero, Co-founder and Vice President – Engineering

Part of the founding team, Christine is in Client services and custom development at Clickmarks. Prior to Clickmarks, she was a Senior Design Engineer at Adaptec Corporation and later, Engineering Manager at Nokia Corporation in the Internet Products Group.

Christine received her BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Adnan Lawai, Vice President Technical Sales

Adnan Lawai has 10 years of technology development and management experience. Adnan joined Clickmarks in 2001. As Vice President of Technical Sales, he is responsible for the company’s key technology channels such as Sun Microsystems and Plumtree. Prior to Clickmarks he was a Design Lead at Silicon Graphics. Adnan started his career at General Instruments in San Diego.

Adnan received his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Vladimir Soskov, Chief Software Architect

Vladimir is Chief Software Architect at Clickmarks where he architected and developed the Clickmarks Dynamic Content & State Recognition Engine. Prior to that he was a Senior Software Engineer at Wordwalla, where he developed groundbreaking bitmap font compression algorithms (patent pending). At Wordwalla, Vladimir also developed a full featured multilingual input & display engine for over 60 languages. Prior to Wordwalla, Vladimir was a Principal Software Engineer for the team that wrote the Strawberry Prolog compiler at Dobrev Ltd. Vladimir received his BS and MS in Mathematics from the University of Sofia, Bulgaria where his specialty was Higher Recursion Theory.
