Clickmarks Closes Third Round of Funding With Investment from Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures

Over $10 Million Inflow Will be Used to Expand Alliances, Drive Global Sales and Support Organization

FREMONT, CALIFORNIA - February 13, 2001

Clickmarks, a leading provider of software infrastructure for wireless carriers, and enterprise clients, announced today the closing of its third round of venture funding, led by a multi-million-dollar investment from prominent Silicon Valley venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures. The new funding will be used to expand Clickmarks’ global sales, marketing and support presence, and to further accelerate its business development efforts worldwide.

"This additional investment affirms the strength of Clickmarks' business strategy and the growing value of our products and services in an increasingly networked and wireless global economy," said John Huyett, President and Chief Executive Officer of Clickmarks.

"While we have been approached by a number of venture capital firms, we chose to work with Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures, based on its expertise in wireless technologies and exposure to global markets," continued Huyett. "With the support of a top-tier investor like Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures, we will be able to expand aggressively into our target markets."

"After careful consideration, we chose to invest in Clickmarks based on the demonstrated traction in the marketplace and the leading edge technology deployed by the company. We fully expect Clickmarks to be a leader in the way content and services are delivered to wireless devices," said Asad Jamal, Co-Chairman & Managing Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures.

Specific uses for Clickmarks' Series C funding include an increase in the company's engineering staff; an expansion of indirect sales channels via alliance partners; further development of the company's global sales and support organization; and an extension of Clickmarks' technological advantages via accelerated R&D efforts.

The funding by Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures, its first with Clickmarks, led a round that included additional investments from corporate and institutional sources. Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures (www.dfj.com) is the global fund of the renowned Silicon Valley-based firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
